I had a very odd childhood. Half of it was spent in Lebanon in the middle of a civil war, then I’d spend the rest of the time at boarding school in England talking about pony clubs with people who are now in the Tory cabinet.
You get used to being in a war zone. Lebanon is a beautiful place. I was an hour away from the beach and an hour from the ski slopes but then we’d be having lunch and hear huge amounts of machine gun fire.
